How to Compare Products and Spot Real Value Online
Look beyond the lowest price: unit cost, quantity, ingredients, shipping and return terms all change what a product really costs.

The lowest price is not always the best deal
A cheap product that arrives late, breaks quickly or cannot be returned costs more than a fairly priced one that works. Compare the whole offer, not only the number next to the add to cart button.
Work out the unit price
Divide the price by the size or count. A 500 ml bottle at $12.00 costs 2.4 cents per milliliter, while a 250 ml bottle at $7.00 costs 2.8 cents. Larger sizes are usually cheaper per unit, but only if you will use them before they expire.
Check what is included
- Quantity: is it one item or a set?
- Size or capacity: compare in the same units.
- Ingredients or materials: similar names can hide different quality.
- Shipping cost and estimated delivery time.
- Return window and who pays for return shipping.
Use reviews wisely
Read a mix of positive and negative reviews. Look for repeated comments about the same problem, such as sizing or durability. Be careful with reviews that are vague or all posted on the same day.
Decide what matters most
For something you use daily, such as a moisturizer or cleaning product, quality and suitability matter more than saving a dollar. For a one-time purchase, price and delivery speed may matter more. Knowing your priority makes the choice easier.
