Shop with a quick routine
Most online shopping problems can be avoided with a few habits. Run through this list before you enter your card details on any store.
The checklist
- Check that the page address starts with https and shows a lock icon.
- Look for clear shipping, returns and privacy policies, and read them.
- Find real contact information and a way to ask questions.
- Compare the price with other stores. A price far below everyone else's is a warning sign.
- Read the product description carefully, including size, quantity and materials.
- Look at the photos and check that the product matches what is described.
- Pay by card or a digital wallet rather than by bank transfer or gift cards. Cards offer stronger dispute options.
- Keep your order confirmation and tracking number until the item arrives and you are happy with it.
Watch for pressure tactics
Countdown timers that restart, claims that only one item is left, and messages demanding immediate payment can push you to buy before thinking. Take a minute to check the store and the product first.
Protect your accounts
Use a unique password for each shop, turn on two-factor authentication where it is available, and be careful with emails that ask you to log in through a link. Go to the store directly instead of clicking.
If something goes wrong
Contact the seller first with your order number and photos. If you cannot resolve it, use the buyer protection offered by the store or your payment provider. On ZOMART, orders are covered by the A-to-z Guarantee.
